Brazil Paired With Italy In Confederations Cup

Brazil, Italy, Egypt and the United States will square off against one another in Group B of the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa.

The tournament is staged every four years as a pre-cursor to the following year's World Cup, and includes the champions from each of the six football confederations, as well as the last World Cup winner and the host nation.

Brazil come into the 2009 edition as holders, having thrashed Argentina 4-1 in the final of the 2005 competition, and having also tasted success in 1997, when they saw off Australia 6-0 in Saudi Arabia.

Dunga's side will face Egypt in their first game of the June tournament as they look defend their title and walk away with the $3.75million in prize money that awaits the winning nation.
