1986 World Cup Winner Batista to Replace Tocalli as Argentina U-20 Boss

The Argentine Football Association have moved quickly to appoint a successor to Hugo Tocalli, replacing him with 1986 World Cup winner Sergio Batista.

Tocalli, who led Argentina to this year's U-20 World Cup title, resigned earlier this week after a dispute with the AFA over how to develop future stars. He had previously served as assistant to Jose Pekerman, both at under-20 and senior level, before taking on the under-20 job himself.

AFA chief Julio Grondona confirmed yesterday that Batista would be the new man in charge, taking over at the end of December. He will see out his position as manager of second division side Godoy Cruz until then.
