Tuesday Transfer Gossip

First off, Sky Sports report that Manchester City have now made firm their interest in Olympiakos striker Nery Castillo. Ukrainian side Shahktar Donetsk are also interested in the Mexican.

Sky also report that Reading are interested in signing River Plate defender Danilo Gerlo, after he impressed in the Peace Cup meeting between the two sides. River seem open to a move, so expect further news in the coming days.

West Ham are to challenge Manchester City for the signing of Roque Santa Cruz after the Daily Mirror revealed they are ready to match City's bid for the Paraguay forward.

Real Zaragoza are have entered the bidding for River Plate goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo, according to Sky Sports. Lazio's inability to tie up a deal for the Argentine has opened the door for the Spanish club, with both Manchester United and Manchester City holding a watching brief over the negotiations.

Marca (Spanish link) report that Villarreal are interested in signing Diego Milito and Fabio Coloccini as replacements for Diego Forlan and Roberto Ayala. Villarreal are flush with cash having received 27million Euros from the sales of Forlan and Ayala and are expected to make major moves in the transfer market within the next couple of weeks.

Goal report that German sides Wolfsburg and Schalke are interested in signing Juan Riquelme. The player himself has stated a desire to stay in Argentina, but as it is unlikely Boca Juniors can afford to sign him on a permanent basis, a move back to Europe seems the likely course.

Finally, the Gazetta Della Sport (Italian link) report that AC Milan's sixth choice for a big summer signing is Carlos Tevez. If the Rossoneri are unable to sign Drogba, Eto'o, Pato, Ronaldinho or Svenchenko then Tevez is their man. With Tevez's transfer to Manchester United still dragging on, it could be that AC have a good chance to nip in and steal the Argentine from under United clutches.

Thursday Transfer Gossip

First off, Javier Saviola has completed his move on a free transfer to Real Madrid from Barcelona. Marca (Spanish link) report that he will be presented to the media as a Real player on Friday.

Sky Sports report that Daniel Alves is waiting on Chelsea to agree a fee with Sevilla for his services, according to the players agent Jose Rodriguez Baster.

The Sun report that Deportivo La Coruna's Argentine midfielder Aldo Duscher is in England today for a trial with Newcastle United ahead of a possible free transfer move. They lead the article with the typically sensationalist headline: "Big Sam in for Beck butcher".

Barcelona have finally agreed a fee with Real Zaragoza for Argentine defender Gabriel Milito according to Sky Sports. With personal terms having already been agreed for the Copa America, the deal is now pretty much finalised.

The Sun report that both Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in Mexico striker Nero Castillo, who has been on electric form during the Copa America. City apparently tried to sign the player previously when he was sixteen.

Marca (Spanish link) report that Real Madrid may challenge city neighbours Atletico in their bid for Juan Riquelme, provided they cannot sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.

Finally, Ole (Spanish link) report that Estudiantes are looking to replace Betis-bound Mariano Pavone with Osasuna forward Bernando Romeo. They are expected to face competition from San Lorenzo for the signature of the Argentine.

Weekend Transfer Gossip

Not much Latin American transfer activity or even rumours this weekend. In fact, pretty much everything comes from one publication.

First off, Barcelona have offered 16million Euros for Zaragoza defender Gabriel Milito. Marca (Spanish link) report that Zaragoza are holding out for nearer 18million for the talented Argentine.

Real Murcia are close to adding Pablo Garcia to the signing of fellow Uruguayan Marco Regueiro according to Marca (Spanish link).

New Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster has told the Madrid board that Brazilian full back Cicinho is not to be sold to Roma. Marca (Spanish link) report that the Italian side are now likely to turn their attention to Julio Belletti of Barcelona in search of a solution to their right back problems.

In our final Marca (Spanish link) story, they report that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is only willing to discuss a move for Cesc Fabregas to Real Madrid if Brazilian wonderkid Robinho goes the other way as part of the deal. It seems unlikely, however, that Bernd Schuster would be content to sanction such a move.

Finally, the Gazetta Della Sport (Italian link) report, amongst other things, that Liverpool are interested in signing Roma's Brazilian midfielder Amantino Mancini, after struggling to agree deals for Portugese wingers Simao Sabrosa and Ricardo Quaresma with their respective clubs.

Thursday Transfer Gossip

First off, BBC Radio Five Live is reporting a breaking news item that Carlos Tevez is set to join Manchester United. Talks are underway with a £20million move expected to be completed within the next 48 hours. It looks like the end is in sight in the Carlos Tevez transfer saga.

Sky Sports report that Alexandre Pato's agent Gilmar Veloz has confirmed Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan have all made bids for the Internacional striker. Chelsea are understood to have made the highest offer at around £10m, but Veloz once again advised that no deal would be completed with any party until the January transfer window at the earliest.

The Daily Mirror report that Birmingham City are in talks with French side Lille over a one year loan deal for Brazilian defender Rafael Schmitz.

It seemed that Chelsea have baulked at Sevilla's asking price for Daniel Alves and have turned their attentions to Tottenham full back Pascal Chimbonda instead, according to The Sun.

Marca (Spanish link) have confirmed that AC Milan's Brazilian forward Ricardo Oliveira has sealed a move back to the Spanish League with Real Zaragoza. No mention of the fee involved for the player that Milan only signed from Real Betis last year.

Zaragoza are also after Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta, as part of the deal which will see Gabriel Milito heading in the opposite direction. Marca (Spanish link) report, however, that Barcelona prefer to keep the two deals seperate, so they can seal the Milito signing before other clubs step in to scupper the deal.

Marca (Spanish link) also report that Valencia have agreed a fee with FC Porto for the signing of Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez. The formalities of the transfer will be completed once Gonzalez returns from the Copa America.

Finally, Tutto Mercato (Italian link) reports AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi's love for the skills of Juan Riquelme, also apparently shared by their coach Carlo Ancelotti, who once tried to sign the player when manager of Parma. Quite how Riquelme would fit into the midfield seems to be the main obstacle to a move ever happening, which Berlusconi himself also seems to concede.

Monday Transfer Gossip

Having missed the weekend news, this is technically the Saturday, Sunday and Monday Transfer Gossip all rolled into one.

First off, Atletico Madrid have confirmed that they have reached a deal to purchase Diego Forlan from Villarreal on a four-year contract. The fee is believed to be in the region of £14.1million as reported by Sky Sports.

Sky also report that Argentine defender Lionel Scaloni has agreed to join Lazio on a free transfer, after his contract with Racing Santander came to an end.

Thiago Motta has confirmed that he would relish a move to the English Premiership after becoming surplus to requirements at Barcelona. Manchester City, Middlesborough and West Ham have all been linked with the player according to Sky.

Gabriel Milito has rejected claims that Barcelona have contacted him about a possible move to the Nou Camp as reported by Marca (Spanish Link).

Finally, Argentine online news network Infobae (Spanish link) report that rumours linking Atletico Madrid with a move for Juan Riquelme are unfounded, as the club are not convinced by the player's temprement, going as far to describe him as a "strange character". Riquelme is apparently very keen to make his move to Boca permanant and is pushing for Villarreal to release him for a nominal fee, although they obviously prefer to try and get the best possible price for the mecurial Argentine.

Friday Transfer Rumours

First off, Celto Vigo's Brazilian forward Nene seems to be keen on a move to the English Premiership, as reported by Sky Sports. Blackburn seem to be the side most heavily linked with the player, with a transfer expected to happen once Nene has received confirmation of his Spanish citizenship.

Another Brazilian linked with a move is Barcelona defender/midfielder Edmilson, who the Daily Star are linking with a free transfer move to Newcastle.

The BBC is reporting that Carlos Tevez has rejected a move to Inter Milan after they elected to put a time constraint on his decision whether to join them. Tevez's representive/owner Kia Joorabchian is quoted as saying that "Carlos' heart is really in the Premier League", which also seemingly rules out the possibility of a move to Real Madrid for the talented Argentine.

Valencia are reportably lining up Barcelona's Brazilian full back Juliano Beletti as a replacement for Miguel, who is expected to leave the club over the summer, as reported by Marca (Spanish link).

Following the Ole report on Monday that Mariano Pavone's move to Real Betis was close to completion, it appears that Betis are likely to announce the transfer today, according to Marca (Spanish link).

Finally, Marca report that Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has confirmed that the club are in discussions to sign Real Zaragoza's Argentine center-back Gabriel Milito. It seems there is currently a difference between their and Zaragoza's valuations for the player and Gigli doesn't expect the issue to be resolved easily.
