Brazil: Arsenal Eyeing Pato

Reports in the Italian press indicate that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a firm admirer of AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and could make a move for the young Brazilian in the January transfer window.

Wenger is likely to have funds to spend at the turn of the year to strengthen his stuttering squad, following a board meeting on Friday in which the budget for the winter transfer window was discussed at some length.

With Emmanuel Adebayor struggling with injuries and Nicklas Bendtner misfiring, the Frenchman will have identified his forward line as a potential area for reinforcement - if not in January, then certainly at the end of the season, despite having Eduardo still to return from injury.

Valencia striker David Villa has been linked with a move to the Emirates, but if a report in the Gazzetta dello Sport is to be believed, then Pato is also in Arsenal's sights.

The Italian sports daily suggests that Wenger has been keeping tabs on Pato for some time and wishes to get in contact with the nineteen year old to make his interest known, even if a January deal may be out of the question.

Wenger won't buy another forward, zero chance of this.

I can understand where this article comes from - Bendtner and Vela are surely too old now.

Seriously though, I don't know what it is going to take for Wenger to start playing Vela with some regularity. Bendtner is not up to scratch and Vela could not possibly score less. If not to replace the Dane, then to play LM to give us some width for goodness sake. Surely that's a better option than playing Eboue way out of position.

If AW goes ahead and buys some young player you have been warned. It has not worked and why the hell is he continuing the policy?Yes I know the gunners will dominate in three years time? Is there any guarantee it will happen 100%?
If not AW is responsible for the continuing slump of Arsenal FC

Fanner said .. I tell you, Arsene just told me he gonna buy Messi, Eto too. He might also get Flamini back, and Henry. His next target is Viera, and he might also persude Tony Adam play again as a CB for Arsenal. Curently Keown has already agreed to make a come back. Dennis Bergkamp is also in his list..
