Diego Maradona has been met by extraordinary scenes across India during his charity tour of the country, with thousands of people congregating to get a glimpse of the Argentina coach in Calcutta in Saturday.
Maradona attended the opening of a football school earlier in the day - his last in India - having already been a guest of honour at a charity dinner and visited the Mother Theresa convent in his previous two days in the country.
The 48 year old did his best to personally greet as many of his fans as possible, with the constant shouts of 'Diego, Diego' and the clicking and flashing of cameras creating a marvellous scene that many of those present will clearly never forget.
"I used to play football, but stopped in 1960, the year in which this small genius was born," a teary-eyed fan told the local television media.
"I wanted to see him in person at least once during my life and now that wish has come true."
