Bayer Leverkusen defender Arturo Vidal has admitted that he is proud to be linked with a move to AC Milan following reports in the Italian press that the Rossoneri are keeping tabs on the young Chilean.
Vidal, 21, has been in impressive form in Leverkusen's superb start to the Bundesliga season and with his stock rising by the day, the Corriere Dello Sport suggests that Milan would be willing to spend somewhere in the region of $20million to take him to the San Siro for next season.
Leverkusen paid $7.7million to sign Vidal from Colo Colo in 2007, although the Chilean side still own 30% of his transfer rights and could therefore be in for a sizeable windfall should Milan firm up their interest.
Vidal is keen to keep his feet on the ground until they do so, although he did struggle to hide his joy at being linked with such a big club when questioned by reporters on Friday.
"It is a great pride for me to hear that a team like Milan are following me. That must be an indication that I am performing well at the moment," he explained.
The likes of Cristian Zapata (Udinese), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Breno (Bayern Munich) and Thiago Silva (Fluminense) have also been linked with moves to Milan, as they look to find a long-term replacement for Paulo Maldini in the centre of defence.
