Manchester City Lining Up Move For Mascherano

Manchester City are thought to be interested in taking Javier Mascherano to the Eastlands stadium if Liverpool do not tie up a permanent deal to keep the Argentine international.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is currently embroiled in an argument with the club's owners over stumping up the £17million required to sign Mascherano, who is on loan at Anfield until the end of the current season.

City are keen to take advantage of this and have already held talks with the consortium headed by Kia Joorabchian that owns the rights to Mascherano.
