Corinthians suffered their first ever relegation from the Brazilian top flight after drawing 1-1 away to Gremio whilst Goias Esporte Clube beat Internacional 2-1 to leapfrog Corinthians and stave off relegation.Corinthians will be joined in Serie B next year by Juventude, Parana Curitiba and America Natal.
In the race for Copa Libertadores qualifying positions, Flamengo and Cruzeiro grabbed the final two spots alongside Sao Paulo, Santos and Fluminense, as Palmeiras missed out after losing 3-1 at home to Atletico Mineiro.
