Argentina win, Uruguay lose in Beach Soccer World Cup

A win for Argentina and a loss for Uruguay leaves both teams in need of points from their final group games to progress to the quarter final stage of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Argentina were comfortable winners over the United Arab Emirates, winning 4-2 thanks to goals from Facundo Minici, Gustavo Casado and a double strike from Federico Hilaire. They now face France in a winner takes all game on Wednesday.

Uruguay twice came back from going behind early on with goals from Parrillo and Ricar, but could not hold off an onslaught from Senegal in the second and third periods, conceding three more goals to lose 5-2. They go into their final group game against Japan needing a win, alongside Italy failing to beat Senegal, in order to progress.

Today's games see Brazil face Russia at 11:00am local time, with Mexico against the Soloman Islands at 14:00.
